2010 Germany: Lene Meyer Landrut with Satellite had been strongly supported in the Eurovision betting with this quirky song. It stood out a mile and was a worthy winner for Germany.
2009 Norway: Alexander Rybak representing Norway was the favourite to take Eurovision, the result was rarely in doubt and he could be called the winner as soon as the first votes came in. Iceland came a surprising second and Azerbaijan again performed well in taking 3rd spot.
2008 Russia: Last years Eurovision winner was the popular Dima Bilan who oddly performed whilst an ice skater pirouetted around him. Bilan had previously represented Russia in 2006 when the contest was held in Athens. The song this time around was Believe and was always to the head of the scoreboard.

2005 Greece: The song My Number One became number 1 for Greece in Europe after holding off a sustained challange from Malta. The 2005 Eurovision contest was held in Kiev.
