Eurovision Semi Finals
The method of selecting the semi-final qualifiers will remain the same we think in 2010. Televoters will pick nine qualifiers in each Semi-Final, while the highest ranked non-qualified contestant in the back-up jury voting will also qualify. Citizens of each participating country vote by telephone and SMS.
The complete results of the telephone voting of the Semi Final will not be announced until after the final so as to keep the Eurovision final as exciting as possible.
Four countries the UK, France, Spain, Germany automatically qualify for the final along with the host nation and are joined by the 20 Qualifiers from the Semi Finals.
By not releasing the full results of the Semi Finals the organisers are wary of spoiling the excitement of the live Eurovision final. However we can get a betting indication of public support.
There will be 25 countries competing in the live final.
Both 2010 Semi-Final will be broadcast and betting will be available on these Semi Finals with most bookmakers.
If you are backing a country to win the 2010 Eurovision Song Contest outright you will get a better return if you back that country PRIOR to the semi finals.
